At PJ’s College of Cosmetology in Indiana and Kentucky, we offer an Instructor Training program that focuses on teaching techniques, student performance evaluations, examination evaluations, preparing students to sit for the State Exam, and much more. The 1,000-hour course in Indiana and 750 hours in Kentucky includes classroom instruction as well as practice teaching sessions. Want to get started on your beauty instructor career, but don’t have the time or desire to take our 1,000-hour course? The PJ’s campus in Glasgow, KY offers a shorter program called Junior Instructor Training. This 750-hour course can be taken full-time or part-time. You can learn what it takes to be a junior beauty instructor, and then move forward into an exciting beauty school-related career. Contact us to learn more about this program.
Yes, the Instructor Training program is offered full-time (30 hours/week) or part-time (20 hours/week).
We are proud to have talented and energetic instructors on staff who have graduated from our Instructor Training course, but graduates from our program can find a teaching job at the school of their choice.
Yes, the state (both Indiana and Kentucky) requires that people applying for a Beauty Instructor license must be licensed. In Indiana, instructors must have a cosmetology, esthetics, or manicuring license and at least 6 months salon experience.
Yes, it is! We offer this program in all eleven of our Kentucky and Indiana campuses. The one exception is that the Glasgow, KY campus offers a Junior Instructor program, which is shorter.
